Hi all, this morning I had what probably was my best birding in Queen's Park. It was literally filled with birds.
I managed to see the following species (and I am sure I must have missed some).
-CANADA WARBLER 1 beautiful
-BAY-BREASTED WARBLER 2 superb males
-Blackburnian Warbler 3
-Black-throated Blue Warbler 6
-Black-throated Green Warbler 5
-Black-and-white Warbler 6
-Northern Parula 2 (one was actually seen between St Georges street and Queen's Park Crescent West)
-Nashville Warbler 2
-Yellow-rumped Warbler 5
-Yellow Warbler 2
-Chestnut-sided Warbler 3
-Magnolia Warbler 5
-American Redstart 5
-Ovenbird 3 (only one in the park, the other two were just on the other side of Queen's Park Crescent West between Wycliffe College and Hart House)
-Veery at least 10
-Swainson's Thrush > 6
-WOOD THRUSH 1 beautiful
-Rose-Breasted Grosbeak 4
-White-throated Sparrow > 10
-White-crowned Sparrow 2
-LINCOLN SPARROW 1 beautifully seen hoping on the ground
-Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
-Baltimore Oriole 3
A very nice way to start the day...I would be curious to see what will be found in more suitable sites along the lakeshore today with this big fall of birds.
