Butterfly/Moth expert req'd

Hey!

I rescued a small black butterfly/moth with red spots from a bus stop today while waiting for a bus. I know that is not a very good description.

When I arrived home 50 Km away I spotted a few more of these same fellows flitting about.

It was all black except for mostly red spots about the size of them old 50 cent pieces. (much smaller than a Monarch)


I am just looking for a little direction here.

I'm no expert but I have a butterfly book. The only one I found that seemed to match your descrption was the Coral Hairstreak. It's not exactly black but the inside is dark. Here is a link
