Just curious, how close do you have to be to get such excellent detail. Do you stake out the birds? Thanks.

The closer the better , we were observing these birds building their nest for quite some time . They were coming and going bringing nesting material and doing their thing ,every now and then a good opportunity for a close shot happens.
