Rattray Marsh - May 22, 2010 - Shorebirds

A brief outing to Rattray Marsh in Mississauga this evening turned up some great views of:
Dunlin
Killdeer
Semipalmated Plover
Least Sandpiper (90% on this one, but might have been one of the other peeps)
Blue-winged Teal

This is a great spot and it's accessible by GO Transit (Clarkson or Port Credit station) if you don't mind a bit of a walk or bike ride from the GO station.

Hi Matthew,

Just wondering where the entrances are for the Marsh?

It appears that you could also take the TTC out to Long Branch and transfer over to the Mississauga Transit and take the #23-Lakeshore bus along to the Marsh.  It might be a shorter hike depending on where the entrance to the Marsh is, not sure.  Has anyone tried this route before?

As you can see you can enter the park at several locations.

I haven't tried the bus route.

@Walter: Not a bad idea. With a bike I think GO is better because the ride from the station is only a few km, but the bus could be a good option for walkers.
