Great videos. What sort of set-up do you use, i.e. scope, eyepiece, camera, and adapter? I'd like to get in to digiscoping now that I have a scope and I'm curious what other people are using.

I'm using a Swarovski ATM-80HD scope with the 25-50 wide angle eyepiece, the DCB-A digiscoping adapter, and a standard 3x zoom digital camera (it's the Casio EX-Z750, but you could use anything else with 3x zoom for equal quality).

The essential parts are a wide angle eyepiece and a snapshot camera with moderate zoom (i.e. 3x and not 5x or more), as these two components help to avoid vignetting. With this combination I can digiscope without vignetting down to about 1.5x zoom on the camera, and any zoom level on the scope.

As you can see, it is not easy panning smoothly at such high magnification. I'm using a pretty standard video head (Manfrotto 128RC).

Don't forget to switch to the HD versions of the videos if you've got the bandwidth for it.

Note the size difference on the two birds in the first two scenes!
