Owl-less on Amherst

Found our way to Owl Woods today (thanks for the directions) under beautiful sunshine, but the owls had decided to sun somewhere else. Not one to be found by several groups that made their way through the woods today. Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes. Not even a Snowy was seen anywhere in the vicinity of the KFN sanctuary (however, one person said he spotted one on the far western point of the island in the morning). But the day was not at all a bust (could have been a lot worse, in fact ... I could have been back at work), as many raptors were out hunting over the open fields, including several Rough-leggeds, Red-Tails, a Harrier and male Kestrel.
