Actually, I was wondering, there are some jpeg artifacts/noise on the shady side of the bird in the second photo. Due to sharpening, or high ISO? Just curious. Anyway, be sure to let us know when you arrange for your first exhibition! Love the first photo!

LOL just collecting a portfolio for now, andreas.
thanks for bringing this to my attention.i missed it. sloppy work,on my part.it,s due to a combination of both sharpening, and high ISO,due to low light conditions.could of used more selective noise reduction in that area.

Great set of images of the meadowlark, despite seeing these guys quite often I still have yet to get a decent picture and would be happy with any of yours:)

thanks nathan.
i concentrated on these guys for a period of about 2 weeks straight.i put in many, many hours in the field for these,as they are a very shy,and elusive bird to photograph.the statics were easy.it,s the IF,that took so long, and i,m not entirelly happy with those either.oh,well, there,s always next year.

Denis:  The statics are simply wonderful and although you may not be happy with the IF's - I'd be ecstatic!

Great shots Denis, I have had very little luck in trying to photograph these guys, a tough bird to capture.
You nailed it.
