The 2 Sandhill Crane shots were taken at distance - well over 100 meters , consequently poor photo quality. One shot shows the crane bustel , the other the red crown .
One  of The Osprey shots shows the nest and the 2 young with the parent . The other shows another parent . The shots were taken in the Rama / Orillia area .

Great finds on both counts Jim, I wouldn't mind getting within 100 meters of a SHC.  :D

Misty01    ravyenne40  - thanks ,
I've been following the progress of the Osprey youngsters for a while now and when I saw them over the past weekend they are almost as large as the parents. Groups of Crows , Canada Geese and Gulls have taken over the SHC field .

Nice shots.  I have tried to get close to the Sandhill Cranes - but so far no luck. Although the ones by Glen Morris on occasion allow us avian paparazzi near.

Cheers,

Bernie

Bernie ,
Yes even at over 100 m, the crane was very aware of my distant presence .
It kept on turning and checking on me - frequently . I was tempted to get closer - but I would have been tresspassing on private property - a nono.
The last time I was in the vicinity an OPP cruiser quickly  arrived ( cherries flashing) out of nowhere to politely check me out. My binos / birding explanation cleared me.
Thanks for your comment .
