Lovely shot of the female kestrel. Watch and see if maybe they go into a hole of some kind nearby. They mite nest near there.
Thanks!
Would it be possible for them to nest in a ground hole? I assumed they'd only nest in tree cavities?
I've been watching to see where they "dissapear" to, but have yet been able to figure it out. They'll take off from the trees and head under the bridge, and then they're gone. Never (well, almost never) come out the other side, so I've assumed they hiding out under the bridge somewhere. I have a few possibilities, but didn't have a lot of time this past weekend to investigate.
Will keep my eyes open though — will try and get down there mid-week during my lunch.
Regards,
Kristin.
