Does anyone know what kind of fritillary this is? From Hearst, Ontario area. http://www.flickr.com/photos/41622365@N02/4869115026

I'm no butterfly expert, but it looks like a Great Spangled Fritillary(?)

It is hard to tell if the Fritillarys are large or small.
As both have a white edge to the wing, I would say that they are Silver-bordered Fritillary.

They were smaller than the great spangled. I also thought they might be silver-bordered fritillaries.

Nice catch.

I think you have a pair of Atlantis Fritillary (Speyeria atlantis).
Please note that the wing shape, marking and coloration match well with that of the Atlantis.
(the coloration and hindwing marking doesn't match Silver-bordered Fritillary)

Thank you, the hind wing does seem to more closely resemble the Atlantis.
