July 25
I American White Pelican was still in the marsh sleeping on it normal stump.
Other species seen included Great Egret 1, Northern Shovelers, Green and Blue-winged Teal, American Wigeon, Virginia Rail, Pied-billed Grebes.
As for shorebird habitat. there is essentially nothing there for non-long legged waders. With the low water levels in the spring the exposed mudflats have been overgrown with various emergent plants. Also the water level in the marsh and lake has risen with all the summer rain this year.
The beach at Darlington Provincial Park is where the shore birds are currently found in this area.
