I'm finding loads of these young Herons this year, they seem to be in great numbers everywhere.

I would agree i have seen more than usual this year.  In fact the other day i was taking some shots of a blue heron and after i reviewed the pics there was a juvy sitting all camouflaged on a rock and i never noticed him.
