Good day all.

Today I tagged along with Margaret Liubavicius on a beautiful winters day and we found some birds of interest as well as some of the same ones that others have been reporting from those areas.

At Humber Bay Park we found the 2 male Ruddy Ducks, 3 A. Coots, 4 Trumpeter Swans, 39 N. Shovelers, all 3 Mergansers, and the usual Waterfowl. We also added a N. Mockingbird and a singing male House Finch.

As we headed for Sunnyside we found 2 male Lesser Scaup, a Red-necked Grebe and 2 Yellow-rumped Warblers. This is the area west of the Humber River called Humber Shores Park.

At Sunnyside were 75+ Redhead, all 3 Mergansers again and 200+ Gulls including a 1st winter Thayer's Gull. These Gulls should be checked once in awhile as the change in weather lately could bring in some new and interesting arrivals. Last week a Glaucous Gull was seen here. Glaucous, Iceland and Thayer's have been in short supply in the Toronto area this winter.

We continued on through High Park adding both Nuthatches, 15 Downy Woodpeckers, 21 A. Robins, 14 White-throated Sparrows, Song Sparrow, and the usual suspects.

Another nice day to be out there away from the rat race.
