I spent the morning at Humber Arboretum, and while it was a cloudy day, I still went crazy with the camera.  A lot of migrants passing through.  But, I also wanted to say, that with the various plant life on the grounds...  it makes for some great pictures as a whole (bird and background).  What do you think?

Stunning colors out in those fields.  I need to get out there soon on a sunny day.

Absolutely agree re the vegetation.  I end up stopping to take pics of butterflies, dragonflies, flowers, berries and vines which are all incredibly colorful now.
The birds look great surrounded by the fall fruit and colours!

I think it's great you included the background.  It's because we're on the migratory flyway that we see most of the birds we're so lucky to see, but Toronto also provides important migratory stop-over habitat, & with the background the important plants get documented too.

Photographing at the Arboretum, one just cannot NOT include the background.  They are doing an amazing job over there.  I'm surprised I see so little people there no matter when I go.  They even have a few outhouses scattered about the lower grounds with running water...  it sure beats a bush!   :D

Nice series of images, love the yellow background on the second one, is it a building? I'm going to have to check this place out when I'm in the city next as I'm starting to see a lot of great images from there recently. I'm also a fan of the "birdscapes" ;-)

No, I think the yellow is just foliage that blurred out in the background.  I was down in the lower field area and well away from any structures.  I think I might hit there Sunday morning again since it's supposed to be quite nice.
