I was out walking about an hour ago and spotted the bird calling. Of course, did not have my glasses on or bincs with me!!!!!!!!!!
If you take the Caledon trailway north from Kennedy Road (not to be confused with Kennedy Road, the one east of Hwy 10), walk about 1/4 km?? until you pass over a stream down in a wooded valley. Just after, to the right is a wood with trails going to the right from the trailway. The bird was just beyond these trails (there is about 3 of them with about 50 ft) on the right hand side. I have seen a RBW in the same area a couple of years ago. Had one come to my feeders a few times over the last 4 years, especially in the winter. I live about a 10 minute walk from this location. Will go back tomorrow if I get time and take my husband with me for pictures. Also have seen a pileated in the same woods several times in the last year.
