There seem to be dozens of juncos around the base of my feeder this weekend. Today I discovered three fox sparrows in amongst them - a new bird for my backyard list.
The white-throats that had been hanging around in similar numbers over the past few weeks have thinned out to one or two.
Lots of activity at the feeder - many chickadees, white and red-breasted nuthatches, and downies around constantly.
Yesterday a red-tail circled lazily above for quite a while, occasionally calling out to make sure everyone knew it was there.
