I spent an hour at the Brickworks today (3-4 PM).  It looked pretty quiet, but wow! lots to see!

Eastern Bluebirds: they're flying around at the back along the escarpment and they're landing in some of the trees that line the walking path. they're mixed in with some Goldfinches and house finches. i saw one with the most incredible blue colour (the rest were not as bright).

Red-tailed hawks: these are three local RTHs and my wife and i watched one fly around the park. we ended up stumbling into it as it ate its mouse/squirrel dinner on a tree about 20 feet in front of us and 15 feet up. after it was done eating, its mate/friend flew in and joined it. they spent the next 30 minutes playfully chasing each other around the escarpment, landing on the side where the kingfishers live. it was really neat to see.

Northern flicker: heard it and saw it from a distance. it was on the upper escarpment

Muskrat and 2 mallards: in one of the rear ponds

Red-winged blackbird (minus the red wings): one landed in the park

i posted pictures on the photo page
