My mother and I had a great time birding at Humber Bay today. Here's a complete list of what we saw:

x Ring-billed Gulls
x Gadwalls
x Mallards
x American Goldfinches
x Black-capped Chickadees
x Canada Geese
x White-throated Sparrows
21 Hooded Mergansers
17 Buffleheads
10 Northern Shovelers
10 Green-winged Teals
5 European Starlings
5 Northern Mockingbirds
4 Killdeer
3 Song Sparrows
2 Northern Cardinals
2 Mute Swans
1 American Black Duck
1 Double-crested Cormorant
1 Great Egret

The Hooded Mergansers have been at the park consistently for the past two weeks, and the flock of Buffleheads just arrived today. There has also been a single male Northern Pintail hanging around with the gulls lately, and although I didn't see him myself today, another birder tells me that he is still present.  :)

I was at Humber East on Monday the 8th...  saw the Great Egret, 2 pairs of Hooded Mergansers, 3 Mockingbirds, 1 Cardinal, some Chickadees and Starlings, and a whack of Gadwalls.  I didn't do the whole area and was only there for about 45 minutes.

A birth certificate shows we were born.  A death certificate shows we died.  Pictures show we live.

Thanks for the replies. I returned on the 8th as well and found almost all of the previously mentioned species (except for the Hooded Mergansers) and also saw American Tree Sparrows, one Downy Woodpecker, and one Red-breasted Merganser, as well as the male Northern Pintail.

I went back this morning again and saw what I believe to be 2 Red Breasted Mergensers (checking my guide or posting a pic on here) and one Great Blue Heron...  had a great long and up close look at him.  Magnificent!
