Yesterday there were a few robins and waxwings in a neighbours yard but they disappeared before I could get any pictures. I was in Ross Lord Park today and there was a flock of waxwings and a few robins flying around the south parking lot. Does anyone know why robins and waxwings are often seen flying and feeding together? So far they've shown up once but I've still got a tree full of berries in front of my house so I'm hopeful they'll return before winter.
And for anyone interested there's a redtailed hawk hanging around the entrance to the last parking lot before the south lot. Last week he was perched pretty high but today he posed at the top of a dead tree about twenty feet off the ground. I got some good shots but if I had been smarter I could have gotten some of the best in flight shots I'll ever get; unfortunately I had changed cameras when he decided to take off and he glided by me about fifteen feet high, away from the sun but I wasn't ready.
