Saturday morning between 7:45-8:45am, sunny blue skies. 8:45am, could see very heavy fog rolling in from East to West along Lake Aquitaine. Walked past Plowman's Park and couldn't see the field! Could just barely see Juncos. When looking behind, literally couldn't see where I had just walked! Walked around Lake Wabukayne and the fog was SO thick, couldn't see the lake or any water, could barely see tips of trees. Could hear Mallards quacking and Belted Kingfisher whirring but couldn't see them. A funny experience and interesting identifying all birds by sound only.
Could see Chickadees and Cardinals.
Walking past Lake Aquitaine on way home, sighted a male Downy Woodpecker. Fog so heavy today, had to constantly blink my eyes and it felt like walking into spider webs! A lot of temperature fluctuation as well. Felt a couple of wicked cold patches!
The fog finally lifted around 1pm. Nice sun/cloud afternoon.
