So, the last couple days I have been coming home from work to a very quiet backyard and the feeders have barely been touched. This morning, having coffee, we saw our new backyard terror. Once the cold weather sets in, the Hawks start to show up.
I am not very good at Hawk ID's. Coopers and Sharp Shins are so similar to me. Especially from a far.
I have two not very good shots from this morning, snapped through a dirty kitchen window. If I stepped outside, the Hawk would'a taken off.
Any help on which species this one is? It would be greatly appreciated... and help me with my data input for Project Feeder Watch. Once again, bad shots. If not, hope to get a better pic in the near future. Thanks for looking!
Here he is just above the kitchen window.
Here he is about 100 ft down the yard.

A birth certificate shows we were born. A death certificate shows we died. Pictures show we live.
