Hello, I was wondering if any of the Zeiss owners out there could recommend where I could go in Toronto to purchase a Zeiss Diascope 85mm? I know about Eftonscience and Pelee Wings farther afield, but what about here locally in Toronto? Is there somewhere that you can "test drive one " out the back door sort of thing?
In addition I've read that the scope bags for this model are hard to find at a good price. Is this so?

Thanks in advance

Mark

Sorry, I don't have any answers to your questions. I'd just like to say I would be interested to know about alternative optics resellers in Toronto too.

Pelee Wings would be my recommendation. Great service & you can try them hands on before you buy. I know its not toronto but if you are going to spend good money on a scope you may as well get good service. You could e-mail them ahead of time. Go up one day and may it a birding day also in the park you won't regret it.

I know nothing about them, but I stumbled upon the Kendrick Astro Instruments website a few years ago when I was looking for binoculars.  They list the Zeiss scope and case:  http://www.kendrickastro.com/astro/spt_zeiss.html

Personally, if I was going to spend that much money on a scope, I would want to go somewhere like Pelee Wings where I could compare it side by side with other high-end scopes.  At that level of quality you are dealing with very subtle differences in optics.
