I'm going through over 10 lbs of nyjer seed every two weeks.  Four feeders but this one gets the most action (don't know why).  Must be location?  The other tube one has yellow on it also.

Gold Finches

Pine Siskins

more Gold Finches

I know feeder shots aren't always the best to look at but it's the only way to get a portion of the flocks in one picture together.  Funny how there are no mixes of Gold Finches and Siskins here.  It's one or the other.

my feeders look like this sometimes, but with house finches instead of siskins (one siskin visits sometimes).

Lucky you - I've never seen a Pine Siskin, never mind have a group at the feeder.  It's very neighbourly of you to feed the gang!

Looks like my feeders ;-) I normally only see a few Goldfinches but this year I have a group of 40+ on the daily and they are blowing through he seed.  I wouldn't mind seeing a group of Siskins like yours   ;-)

The Siskins are a treat for sure.  A little sporadic much like a lot of the birds in the backyard this winter.  But there are Goldfinches everywhere...  two tube feeders and two of those nyjer socks will be full of them at any given time, with more in the trees waiting, and some even going at the black oil sunflower seed now.

Wonder if I should add another sock?  Cheapest way to go.  I thought about one of those really long tube feeders that can hold 20 birds but if I didn't keep the feeder full, it would take away from the WOW of such a feeder.  Maybe if I win the Max Lotto tonight I will splurge on such a feeder ($60) and keep ample supplies of nyjer at home?
