This was my first time to Hendrie Park in Hamilton. it is across the road from Royal Botanical Gardens.
These are some of the birds that I saw and can identify
Chickadees (lots)
White Breasted Nuthatch 6
Morning Doves 6
Cardinal 12M 4F
Downy Woodpeckers 3M 2F
Blue jays 3
What I couldn't identify, or was unsure about -
Very small woodpeckers slightly larger then the chickadees. No red crest. Black and White feathers like a Downy or Hairy. Maybe female or Juvenile Downys? 2
Dark eyed Juncos 3M 3F (Looked it up on Birds of North America - Pink bill gave them away) I assume the lighter ones are female and the darker ones are male.
White Throated Sparrow (Looked it up too - The yellow over the eyes and the white throat were the tell tales)
Field Sparrow 2 (Looked it up)
I have photographs of these ones.
One Hawk - Broad wings and a light under belly. Knew something was up when all of the chickadees went poof and disappeared.
Sighted by others one small beaver
A red breasted woodpecker.
I have posted a couple of the photographs that I took in the photographs forum. More to come.
