Holy cats, Denis! Your in-flight shots are among the best I've ever seen. Consistently! What sort of lenses do you favor? I assume you're a Canon fellow? Canon's lens selection is better for us bird photographers. He said bitterly...
Seriously, gorgeous in-flight shots, I look forward to more and more of them...

OMG is right .. what fab. shots.  Love  how you captured the "searching" look.    They are fantastic flying machines.

thanks david.
yes i am a canon man.right now i,m using a mark 111/400 f/5.6 prime combo,for flight shots.
it,s nice and light,so i can get on the bird quickly, lock focus, and track it till i,m ready to take a burst.
bottom line: practise,practise etc....

Denis: of course, practice practice practice, that's how you get to Carnegie Hall! But seriously, I'm happy with Nikon but a little miffed that they never put out a 400 f5.6 as Canon did. They've got the 300 f4, but not the 400. Ah well...must make do with what I have, which is a zoom for now...but we're getting off topic, and it's all my fault. Anyhow, great shots, and thanks for sharing...whereabouts are you finding these glorious harriers, will you tell us?

too bad david.
canon makes 3, 400 lenses.the other 2 are too rich for my blood.the primes are much faster.i used to have the 100-400,but way too slow for IF,even without IS turned on,which is not needed for flight shots, and in fact slows the lens down.
there are harriers all over it seems this year,at least in durham region.
