While out at Humber Bay East yesterday, not a lot of birds out but enough to take the edge off the withdrawal of not birding for a few weeks!
There was a mocking bird, sparrows(mostly house), long tailed ducks, a coot, mergansers, swans(mute) several mallards and redheads!

The best part was the show the male red breasted mergansers put on for us in Lake Ontario, in unison they were stretching their heads up to the sky to impress the females,
I think we were more impressed then than the females LOL!
Is this a sign that spring is around the corner? (I sure hope so!!)

Do a little dance,...

Those are actually red-breasted mergansers, but very cool! The indifferent females are priceless.

Nice shots of the "dance"... we were there this afternoon and did not see this dance, but did see one of the males dashing across the water in short bursts .  I'm sure it was an attempt at impressing a female with this speed and agility.  :D
