This Harrier was on the road eating prey at Thickson Woods. Eventually flew up a tree and stayed close to the prey. Definitely made my day.

there's talk of some of the local photographers baiting the harriers. did you see anything like that?

VERY COOL SHOTS AND A BEAUTIFUL BIRD.  YES WE HAVE HEARD ABOUT BAITING OUT THERE.  MANY PEOPLE ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THEM.

I got there at 11am Sunday and there was no other person in the area. I didn't see any suspicious activity. It was eating away on the street leading to the entrance to Thickson Woods. I was quite surprised to see one this close. Initially, i thought it was a Turkey Vulture or raven, it was quite a large raptor. I was surprised to see it made a kill on the street, i thought they like the open areas, but then again i'm not an expert on harriers. Maybe the GHO made the kill, and the harrier muscled its way in. Who knows. When i left, a group of birders showed up.

The last time i ate rabbit was 30 years ago in Italy. :lol:
