I stayed home today due to some flu kinda thing. But the sunny day drew me out back a few times and there's always something to see.
What I am almost certain is a Coopers Hawk. Sitting in the neighbour's tree a few doors over, watching my feeders, around mid-morning.
Still lots of Finches daily... House, Gold and Siskins here. Filling up the nyjer feeders even twice some days lately.
Then this Sharp-shin (it was small) arrived around 2:30pm and sat in the apple trees for quite some time. Was it hunting or enjoying the sun? My presence beneath him didn't bother him in the least.
And 3 Mourning Doves had a sleep in those apple trees through a good part of the afternoon too!
Also saw 7 Chickadees, 2 Red Breasted Nuthatches, 2 Blue Jays and a pair of Cardinals.
