Great find!!
I'm just wondering if the "blue sky" was added after the fact.
It looks a little like the bird was pasted over that beautiful blue summer sky.
Nice shot all the same.

Thanks Richard, but its not a great picture then because the sky in the original was white :)

Thanks Bernie.....she was only on the tree trunk for about thirty seconds and only provided a nice profile a couple of seconds.  I did get a few not bad shots but no real keepers as the overcast white sky was awful.

Thanks Meghan and as noted above you are correct that the blue sky replaced an all white one in the original.  I rarely change BG's however as this was my first Pileated I tried to salvage the shot.
