I had a good night tonight. Two LEOs in 2 hrs. Also saw the remains of a NSWO (likely dinner for one of the LEOs).  The female was very skiddish and I kept my distance. Also keep in mind that this was at 7 PM, so I assume it was close to her waking hour. The male didn't have a care in the world. He opened his eyes a wee bit when my wife walked past him. Nothing more.

Wow Richard, these are awesome.
Lucky you to find them right out in the open like that.
You really took advantage of a beautiful day.

Nice shot mr Sharp-photo!

He loves that tree. This is him in it on Saturday.

Im amazed that you got a shot of the female. She is very very skittish. I couldnt get one that wasnt from a mile away!

And where are the remains? I found remains in the pines by triangle pond a few weeks ago and am hoping that another didnt get eaten.

another did get eaten, i guess.
this one was not that far out as yours was.
someone who was with us accidentally flushed the female (she is incredibly well hidden). it landed in a tree 25 ft up. she sat there for 5-7 min, took a crap and flew back to her spot. obviously, we left her alone.
