Tree swallows are finding homes in the beautiful new nesting boxes this year, there are many of them, more then I remember ever seeing,
One lone Barn Swallow came up on the platform to see what I was up to, I got some nice shots of him. The Black Crowned Night Herons were hiding in their pine trees
there were many Buffleheads on the Lake near the pond, and Grebes on the North West side near the marina, there were also 30+ swans, The Horned Grebes are also hanging around.
I didn't see the Western Grebe.
so Here are a couple of my favorite shots for today :)

Love the colours and b/g on the Barn Swallow Irene.  There were lots of Tree Swallows flying around in the morning and checking out the boxes.  I haven't even tried to get one flying :)

Thanks Moira, I can't believe the numbers of the Tree Swallows, I am wondering if it is because they put up more boxes?
The Barn Swallow is one of my favorites!
Either way, both are fun to watch!
Good luck with the flight shot, I think I took about 20 before i got 3 or 4 clear ones LOL they move so fast and my lens is 5.6/500 mm
I also set my camera to sports mode to see if that would help not sure if it did or if it was the right click at the right time thing.
