The rainy weather has kept me close to home. The warblers are kindly coming to me (Bathurst/Sheppard area). Today, I had 1 male Magnolia Warble, 1 Nashville Warbler, 1 male Tennessee Warbler and 1 female Bay-breasted Warbler. I also had 2 White-crowned Sparrows and 1 Chipping Sparrow hanging around my feeders.

I have Juncos in my backyard this morning.  I think the world is surely going to hell at the moment...  LOL!  I live along the Etobicoke border, just south of Lambton Woods.

A birth certificate shows we were born.  A death certificate shows we died.  Pictures show we live.

On May 19, I had a male Indigo Bunting at the feeder. If the birds keep this up, I can save myself a lot of leg work!

OOps - actually I had a northern waterthrush once before and forgot about it.  But I got Lincoln's sparrow this afternoon for #92!

I saw a couple of birds in my backyard crab apple tree this evening, so I went outside for a look.  I ended up finding 21 species including 9 warblers:
Nashville
Chestnut-sided
Magnolia (several)
Black-throated Blue
Black-and-white
American Redstart (2)
Common Yellowthroat
Wilson's and
Canada

It was so productive, I thought about going over to the park to see what I could find there, but as I waded through the tall grass to get a look at the Chestnut-sided Warbler, I couldn't help thinking there was something else I was planning to do... :(

I went into my backyard for a look before heading to work this morning and found 3 different warbler species:
Yellow-rumped
Blackburnian
Bay-breasted

I didn't see any of the warbler species from yesterday but there was a Redstart singing.  The birds were mainly up high and I only looked for 3 or 4 minutes.  I expect it will be another great day for birding if you have the chance!

Today, May 20, the birds of note were a male Baltimore Oriole taking sunflower chips from my main feeder and a White-throated Sparrow hopping around the lawn.
