Shorebirds at G Ross Lord

I stopped quickly at G. Ross Lord Dam (Near Dufferin and Finch) today and there were a few shorebirds:
5 Least Sandpipers, 5 Spotted Sandpipers, 4 Solitary Sandpipers, 1 Lesser Yellowlegs and at least 20 Killdeer. Also 1 Great Egret and 2 Great Blue Herons.

What a difference a rain storm can make!.....Saw all the birds you mentioned last week but yesterday most were gone as the mudflats were totally flooded....did see 1 kildeer, 1 solitary sandpiper and a female indigo bunting near the stabels.

Stopped by quickly today again and lots of water as you said. No shorebirds seen, but a Great Crested Flycatcher was nice.

I'd keep checking the dam and area. During migration, I've seen Osprey there. One time, I watched a juvie Peregrine Falcon keep scattering the shorebirds. I think it wanted to catch one of them, but the falcon missed every pass.

Was passing by so decided to drop in but the gate to the dam was shut and could not drive in to park. Is that usual?

Did try to get there from the park side but all I hit was the shoreline with no visible means to get to the dam area. Yes pretty flooded even on the park end.
