Chimney swifts (I think)

Took some pics of the birds that I'm 95% certain are chimney swifts.
I spent 10 minutes or so trying to shoot them. Superhigh shutter speed, superhigh ISO....manual focus, auto focus....
Its practically impossible.
So I'm posting this out of coolness of seeing swifts above my house for the past month and just for personal interest (and possibly some photo tips)

Yes, definitely Chimney Swifts. When the fly notice the shallow wingbeats. Check out the "flying cigar" body, tiny bill, lack of any apparent tail, and compare the wing shape to swallows. You will also hear the very frequent twittering vocalisations,

again, i was 95% certain, but you never know...i've confused RWBB females with sparrows before :)

Pretty good under the circumstances. At least the shape is there. If any consolation, mine just come out as blurry blobs.

wow and here I thought it was just the local swallows flying above Marie Curtis Park and 42nd Street...apparently we have them here too!
