What a difference a week of warm weather makes!  After weeks of Red-necked Grebes in Sam Smith Park, the only one left this evening was the injured bird.

There are still lots of Horned Grebes.  This evening, they were concentrated off the east side.  I watched one pair do a courtship dance.  There were 20 or 30 Lesser Scaup scattered about, a single male Redhead, and 3 Ruddy Ducks in the harbour area.  There were a few Common Loons scattered offshore, and a small flock of Long-tailed Ducks still hanging around.

There were lots of Common Terns doing spectacular dives for fish.
