Sad DAY: retired , and bored, angry father took down feeder.

Upon getting back from my 4 week VAC in Eastern Europe ( Cro, ITA) , I was really saddened to notice our feeder has been taken down.

the father of the home is retired, bored, angry and bored. Hence, the shells from the feed were causing a mess on the grass under the feeder, and degrading the green grass .... and is argument is also that these birds don't need our help now, we shall feed them when the summer ends and the weather is cold and their primary sources of food are no longer around in abundance.

Fukin bullshitt.

Any feedback to any of these points?

I hope they all return when the feeder goes back up. .. surely they remember us?  I know they all do. It was a buffet heaven for all.

They really don't need our help in the summer, so much natural food is available (which I am trying to grow some of that actually is more like fall food though...  viburnams, Cardinal Candy, Holly Berries).  And I don't mind sharing our raspberries and blueberries too.

But I still do feed them because Ang and I spend so much time in the backyard and it's nice to have them come around.  And in the summer, we bring in Orioles which are not here in the cold months.

I do cut back in the summer, only filling the feeders once in the morning.  The most popular ones empty in a couple hours.  My nyjer feeders might need filling once a week.  Weekends they get another fill later in the day when we are home.

The bird baths get changed 2, 3, 4, sometimes 5 times a day.
