The Hawk Watch at High Park is located just north of the Grenadier Restaurant's parking lot. (Look for the green arrow on the map), and there are usually experienced and helpful observers there from before 9 till late in the afternoon, from early September till November:

I see they posted the total for the day on ONTBIRDS, 1,681 raptors including 1,564 Broad-wings.

Must have been a great afternoon. Not quite as intense as the count at Holiday Beach: 10,400 Broad-winged Hawks today! But a heck of a lot closer to the TTC.

Excuse my ignorance but where is Holiday Beach exactly?

Thanks.

It's at the easternmost edge of Lake Erie. Long drive, unfortunately.

here's the web page for the Holiday Beach Migration Observatory
http://hbmo.org/
which is found in Holiday Beach Conservation Area:

spent most of my lunch hour at High Park again today - over 5,500 Broad Wings today as of about 1:45. Pretty amazing sight to see them streaming by. The weather is changing, winds out of the east by tomorrow afternoon so if you want to see them, today or possibly tomorrow morning is your chance.

ps. sorry I misled you bobobird :)

I popped in for 10 min around 3:30 pm this afternoon. A kettle of about 25 Broad-winged Hawks passed by, but very far away. They mentioned that about 9000 Broad-wings had passed during the day.

I'm not sure it's the kind of thing  that lends itself to photos - the birds are high and can be pretty spread out.  You get the occasional bird that's low enough for a decent photo if you have a zoom lens and you're quick on the draw, but most of them are too small.
