A midday walk on the spit netted the following:

8 Mute Swan
2 Trumpeter swan (no tags visible)
4 Northern Shoveler
4 gadwall
1 Northern flicker
lots of mallards and Canada geese

Also this morning on a kayak paddle out to the Ward's Island came across a Pied-Billed Grebe and a Long-Tailed Duck (male) by the breakwater just across the eastern gap.
