What Toronto parks have feeders set up?

I planned to introduce some novice birdwatchers to closeup birds using the feeders at Lambton Woods and went to check there today only to discover that the feeders are no longer there.  I am wondering if anyone  knows of a similar set up (ie feeders) anywhere else in Toronto, ttc accessible as I don't want to disappoint this enthusiastic group.
Thanks,

humber arboretum, but its nowhere nearly as awesome as the Lambton feeders.
i would think those feeders will be put up again by some of the locals, as will the suet-painted trees.

Humber Arboretum only has the 3 or 4 feeders right behind the visitor centre.  WBU has tried to talk to them about a feeder trail of sorts but communication lines aren't going so well.

One hopes the Lambton set-up will happen again.  But the guys that do it are elderly gents, 70 yrs +, and hoping their health is great to return and do it again for another winter.  They usually don't set up until December sometime and take the feeder set-up of theirs down by May.  I don't expect to see the lard on the trees until we have temperatures that remain below freezing.

Are the feeders still up at Trinity Bellwoods park?  I can't remember who on here was posting about them...  they set them up...  and many people were enjoying them with a nice variety of birds visiting the feeders and the ground below.

Riverwood has a nice feeder trail and Red-bellied Woodpeckers visit them which is a treat...  but this is out of the TTC zone being west of Mavis.

A birth certificate shows we were born.  A death certificate shows we died.  Pictures show we live.

The High Park feeders attract a nice variety of winter birds but, as of late last week, they weren't up. Every winter, they are on a wooded slope between the restaurant and Colborne Lodge, just north of the steps leading down to the pond. Currently, there is construction underway on a new facility almost directly across the road from where the feeders will be installed. Also, someone puts birdseed and suet on the tops of the guardrails in the same spot.

Rumour has it that the Trinity-Bellwoods feeders won't be up this winter but I may be wrong.

Fellow birdlovers,
Thanks so much for your suggestions.  I will check out those sites.  In the meantime, I learned from a birdwatcher as I rturned to Lambton today, that the gentleman who took charge of those feeders is no longer around and the fellow who took over was not able to keep up with it.  I am quite close to the site, however, I am away sometimes, but I should be pleased to share the upkeep if anyone out there is interested.  Cheers!

There is an active feeder at the north end of Lambton woods, on the west side of the west most path, and there is always seed laid out along the fence down the east path. There were lots of house finches, downies and chickadees at the former yesterday, while the fence had cardinals, blue jays, juncos, sparrows, and doves (and many squirrels). There is another feeder tucked away at the south west corner of the woods, but it hasn't been filled in a couple of weeks from what I can tell.

if my memory's correct, the Lambton feeder was just a 2 L cranberry juice jug with cut-outs to allow birds to land. 2 strands of picture frame wire were used to attach it to the nearby trees.
someone also set up a suet feeder on a stick (not sure if it was there last year) and that was excellent for attracting all sorts of woodpeckers.

set-up is easy. its the refilling which is difficult.
i go to Lambton woods twice a month, so i could do the set-up. i can't do refilling.

Mr. Sharp Photo
Actually the original set up consisted of a wire from tree to tree with aluminum pie plates strung on it to deter squirrels and in between these were various types of feeders and suet.  I really appreciate your offer to assist me in setting this up; I shall be away from 26/11 to 6/12 and wonder, when do you think you will be there? I saw the plastic bottle feeder yesterday, however this can not hold much and is subject to water gathering in the bottom protentially producing mould.

This Lambton feeder business made me curious. On my walk last week I saw the feeder in the usual spot. I was actually surprised to see it because as Rob said, the feeder usually goes up later in the season.

Although it was raining I took a quick walk in today just to see what was going on and the feeder was there!

Where did you find this set-up? I've never seen pie plates!
Mr Sharp's descripton of the feeder is correct. It has been the same set-up in the same place for years.

Hi, just and update on the Trinity Bellwoods park feeders. I hadn't planned to put them up again this year. While I appreciated the public interest last year it was simply too much work for me to come down there every or ever other day. If anyone would like to continue i Trinity I could provide you with some feeders. Or, if I could get a couple of people to commit to help out I might reconsider.

Actually I was there probably about 7 years ago and, yes, this set up was where the lone cranberry juice bottle feeder is now.  Very busy place!
