Hey

I seem to have a faint memory of someone describing
how certain bird species were attracted to road salt  during the
winter at Algonquin park? What were they?

I spotted two Snow buntings at Downsview yesterday at one of the exit walkways
near the airfield.

There were  People all about and it didn't bother the birds. My Carpool dude said
what type of birds are those?

Yes there was salt on the Sidewalk.

Napper :o

Oh, I spotted 4 stragglers Wednesday in Milton. 4 Robins in a Crabapple type tree
with fruit. Not that  unusual I know  but it is always fun to report.

Many birds come down for the road salt, but in Algonquin, it was the Crossbills, both Red and White-winged. A few got run over when they didn't learn to get out of the way.
