On those cold and occasional crappy days, and when you just gotta bird, and fortunate enough to have a vehicle...  roadside birding can be great

I agree with you. I drove back from Kingston on Tuesday, and from there
to Pickering I counted 12 red tailed hawks along the 401, unfortunately
I couldn't stop to take any photos.
Other drivers don't like that for some reason

Thanks guys!

I made the pics too small on here for posting this time; should open them up some more.  The top one is my fave shot of a Red-tail ever, just a nice background and this copy doesn't do it justice.

I'm almost crashing my truck all the time when I see the Red-tails along the side of the highways.

My journeys, I am taking roads less traveled, so if such opportunities arise, I can slow down, look, stop.  Now to get a lens that can reach them will make things better.  But still great to watch these birds of prey.
