I was down at the local pond in Port Hope, there were quite a few treats down there. Some I could ID and being the rookie I am at small birds, there were some I could not ID. I tried to capture as many as I could.
Indigo bunting(several)
Blackburnian-male and female
Magnolia warblers
Chestnut-sided warblers
Canada warbler
American Redstart
Scarlet tanager-males and females 6-8
Yellow-rumped warblers
Yellow warblers
Common yellowthroat
Baltimore Orioles
Cardinals
Oven bird
Black-crowned night heron
There were several others that I couldnt ID or get a photo of.
This one I could not ID
I have it as a Warbling Vireo, but I'm not sure.

It's pretty easy to get to from the 401 Kin, if you get off at hwy 28 exit, turn right(merge onto Rose Glen) and follow(west) to the first set of lights. Turn left at this set of lights and follow this street(Ontario Street) south all the way to the lake. You will come to another set of lights, pass this set of lights. Go to the next set and turn left onto Peter Street (head east). At the next set of lights turn right(south). You will cross 2 sets of train tracks. Go by the ESCO plant and follow this road all the way to the end(it runs east along the lake). There are 2 places to park. If u park at the first parking spot, you can walk past the pond and follow the trail all the way to Gages Creek. There are all kinds of birds in this area. Once u get to the east end of the pond, there is a trail that runs along the lake. At the east end of this trail is Gages creek. I was there this morning and there are still alot of warblers moving around. I didnt see the Scarlet tanagers this morning, but there was still alot to look at. Hope this helps Kin, mapquest would probably be better at giving directions but these will get u there.
Good luck, hope to see u on the trails:)
