We were packing up after a few nights at the family place just outside of Bond Head when I glanced out the window. Three adult male Eastern Bluebirds were on the snow-covered barbecue. Two posed for the attached photo while the third probed the eavestrough. I imagine they were after grease on the barbecue so I put out a pan of the breakfast bacon fat with some uncooked oatmeal. Forgive the poor quality photo.
Later in the morning, we drove up to the west end of Ravenshoe Road and found a Snowy Owl on the ground in a field to the north of the road.
