Over the past two days I've had some wonderful, surprise sightings.
On January 3- Long Sault
-1 downy woodpecker
-1m 1f red breasted nuthatch
-1 N. Harrier
-1 N. shrike
-15 robins- a nice surprise on such a frigid day
-4 red-tailed awks
-1 golden eagle- it came soaring in low over the trees- a juvenile bird and for a good minute or so it circled allowing me a clear look- as good a look as I usually ever get and for January a big surprise. I've never seen one in Ontario outside of late October/early November (migration).
On January 4- Solina
-1 raven- being mobbed by a small group of crows
-1 m cardinal
-1 adult bald eagle perched in a tree- a great look and a treat as I rarely ever see them perched
-1 red-tailed hawk
A nice start to the New Year. Pretty much picking up where last year finished off.
Happy New Year and Happy Birding to one and all.
