I found this little lady on my way to Humber Bay Park after checking out the huge numbers of gulls east of the Humber bridge (all ringies and herring with 3 GBB).

The star of the show at the park was the Pintail drake who continues to beg for handouts with the mallards and attracted quite a crowd.

Great shots!  I must find this lovely perch the Kestrel enjoys sitting on.  The Pintail rocks!

A birth certificate shows we were born.  A death certificate shows we died.  Pictures show we live.

Thanks Rob! She was right on the beach... a strange spot for one, I thought, though lots of sun.

Hi Feathered

Nice meeting you yesterday

Where did you find the Pintail? I was there this morning but it was very quiet and no sight of the Pintail or the Rudy ducks which were posted yesterday. I checked on both sides of the Humber but only found your Kestrel perch (empty).

I was probably there too early and there was a huge Red-tail in at tree at main parking lot which may have kept the Kestrel away

Hello Dave, nice meeting you too.

The Pintail was at 43.623013,-79.477621 just after noon. He may have just arrived because when I first got the park, people were just taking pictures of the Hoodies in the next part of the cell.

The ruddys were around 43.624512,-79.475668 in a pretty tight raft.

Two great species to photograph.   Unusual pose in #2 of the Kestrel.  The Pintail is gorgeous.

Thank you both! The kestrel was scratching an itch but she looks almost thoughtful.

Beautiful shots.

The amount of detail you captured is amazing.

If you dont mind me asking - what lens did you use?

Thanks.
