Mink at Humber Bay

I was on the bridge watching a beaver swim a branch up Mimico Creek this morning when I heard rustling on the other side and saw this fellow scurrying up the bank! He or she looked like he/she had a mission.

I saw 1 as well, up by the bridge connecting the main lake to dock area, mostly likely not same one as too far...........  Humber area must be a mink city..  :lol:

I saw one at the spit today, right at the red floating bridge.

I saw one at Sam Smith but missed the shot as I was on the phone.  Driving and cell phones are bad.  So is nature walks and cell phones.

Warning: Death of a bird!

Late yesterday afternoon while enjoying the ducks including the Pintail by the little white bridge at Humber Bay Park, a Mink caught and killed a Mallard right in front of us.  Very sad and yet amazing to witness at the same time, it is nature, everything must eat.

Nature cuts both ways. I found a dead mink at Colonel Sam on Friday. No obvious signs of trauma. Later in the day, I saw a mink at Humber Bay West. I usually see it in the eastern park. The ducks get very skittish with it around. No wonder.

I concur with your siting at the Spit.  My wife and I were there and one walked across the main walkway in front of us well before the bridge.  I was surprised to see one there.  It was too fast for me to capture an image of it.

There's minks pretty much anywhere there's water and places to hide.

The dead mink was just off the path near the southeastern point. Facing the lake, it would have been on your right. Still there late last week.

This is probably the same one I saw this afternoon.  Glad to hear no signs of trauma when you first saw it.  From its current state I was guessing a dog attack.
