I headed out this morning to find the shrike (and failed), but saw the kestrel perched where I used to see one of the shrikes last year, near the dog park. The kinglets have moved from their spot by the bridge to the evergreen grove by the rink/bus stop and are hanging out with a brown creeper. There were a decent number of small birds (tree sparrows, juncos, cardinals, goldfinches, plus a lonely mourning dove), and a coot continues to hang out with the mallards on the beach. Otherwise the usual winter waterfowl.

It was quiet for gulls in terms of numbers, but I picked out a 1st/2nd winter Glaucous, 2 GBBs (an adult and a 1st winter), and an Iceland Gull, all passing through. (I think I may be becoming a larophile...)

And since this gal was practically begging for attention...
