I wasn't sure where to post this but I knew both eastern ontario and the GTA wouldn't work so here I am.
I was up in Barrie visiting friends and family for the weekend and my last stop was my aunt's new house in Big Bay Point. We were admiring her view out over Kempenfelt when a large male soared past at eye level, headed towards Barrie.
I've read about these birds numerous times but after living in Barrie I'd never seenone, so this was special for me.
I also spotted 2 kestrels, 2 redtails, 2 brown creepers, 3blue jays and a Hairy woodpecker on Big Bay Point Rd.
Not a bad haul for an afternoon where birding was an after thought.
