Hi everyone.  This afternoon at 1:10pm, sighted an adult Bald Eagle perched on a tree branch above farmer's field with 500+ Canada Geese!

Always a thrill to see the bright white head & tail and chocolate brown body!   :D  Also, a fantastic start to GBBC - Day #4 (final day).

South side of Old Derry Rd., just East of Old Creditview Rd. ... basically, across the street from the entrance of Meadowvale Conservation Area.

Hi Jo-Anne

Good find on the Bald Eagle.

By co-incidence, I drove home along Old Derry Road on the way home from Professors Lake the other day.  Matter of fact I even drove into CVC to check out the site.

I too saw the massive numbers of Geese on the south side of the road. I was blown away, especially after seeing as many or more at Professors Lake !!  Unfortuantely I did not see the Eagle !!

On Saturday I went out to Rens to stock up.  Along Burnhamthorpe west of 9th line I spotted 2 RTH as well as an airborne flight of geese.  Here again there must have been at least 500 ( I said to myself there must have been close to 1000) geese in the air all at one time.  I was a sight to behold, and I  was just in the right place at the right time,  They soon flew out of sight toward the north east.  They were grouped in several smaller numbers of about 50 to 100.

P.S.  LesLey and I went to Aquitaine and Maplewood this morning, then off to LaSalle Park this afternoon to see the Swans.  Also saw Gadwalls and a pair of Coots.

Hi Bob.  Did you walk around the Meadowvale Conservation Area?  I love the suspension bridge there - and it never fails, you'll see some Coconuts lying around on the ground! and No, there aren't any Coconut trees there!

Many years ago, visited Ottawa and sighted 3,000 Canada Geese flying by overhead - quite the sight and sound!  They kept flying by in small V's.   8)

Sighting lots of RTH's in Meadowvale this afternoon!

Coconuts aren't as bad, but this is also the source of all those fake plastic flowers along rivers.
