Great variety can be found on the shores of Lake Ontario in the Burlington area. And of course, what visit to any city is not complete without a visit to the local cemetary..(thanks Dave)... :D

Eider was a lifer for us last Saturday.

Merganser shot is beautiful!

The Eider is very accommodating. He has no fear. Where the Mallards go so does he.
I really lucked out with the Merganser. I had to wait about an hour but 2 paris of then came right up into the area. But took of pretty fast if you even blinked to loud  :roll:
And yes the ESO is pretty awesome. You just have to time it so there is not one else around banging on the tree and then he will just sit out in the sunshine.

some nice shots Meghan....wonder if the eider will stay long enough to develop into full male plumage someday....

shame about the idiots banging on the tree......    :evil: ......only thing worst than one individual is a group of them

Love the photos :) the eider is very accommodating ,not shy at all
When i saw the eso he had a big crowd camped under his tree waiting for him to open his eyes
Did you see the GHO nest nearby? :)
